The front section is from a kit at the moment but that will go away as soon as the cap is complete. The threads are 6 TPI with 4 starts and the threads for the section holder were made with a home made tap. This is a working shape with lots of meat on the blank to make lots of adjustments for testing.

The first picture is a rough in and the second picture shows the pen dressed out a bit.

It's a great attempt. although I like the kits, I've been toying with the idea to get a small metal lathe to turn threads and precise small parts. I'm curious to see how this turn out and how you are approaching things.

As for myself, I'm still trying too hard to make better wood kit-pens to expand but I know it will come next :).
