I just drilled the blanks wrong for a couple of Jr Gents. I drilled the small hole in the short blank and the big hole in the long blank. The blanks for the refill half are now about 1/16" shorter than the brass tubes. Will this still work, or do I need to start over with some new blanks? Thanks.

I have had to trim the lower blank for one reason or another and 1/16" shouldn't give you any trouble with a rollerball since the spring at the end is pretty forgiving. You might even want to cut the spring in half.

If you ever plan on using the pen as a fountain pen with a converter however, you might have problems since the converter has less clearance at the end.

These ones will be rollerball, but Lou I will be getting with you in a few weeks for some fountain pen stuff. I have only done a couple so far, but from what I read I need your nibs for my future ones. Thanks for the replies, Nick
