I was looking through my stack of small pieces of QS white oak for some good pieces to make a pen box out of for a customer and saw something that made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. The piece was rough sawn, but kiln dried and I never paid much attention to it before (too small to send through the planer). A wave in the edge of the board caught my eye so I took it to the belt sander to see what it looked like. This is a rough idea of what I found.
I immediately thought about the cigars I just got in from BB yesterday and cut me a quick blank.
I can't wait to see what this turns out like. I'll keep you posted.
