To make a long story short and spare you the gory details, I need to remove the threaded plastic insert and chrome retaining ring from the cap of an Atrax. Is there any way this is going to come out intact? Thanks for any suggestions!

Michael

No longer confused....
Knock out the cap.

Once that is out put the lower coupler in place without the trim ring. Make sure it is fully seated. You want MAX thread coverage for full support.

Then just press it out via the cap/clip. You can start it with a pen press.

Thanks, Ed. Cap/clip has not been installed, just the trim ring and insert (at which point the "incident" occured). Will have a go at it with the punches in the morning, thanks.

Michael
