Sorry, couldn't resist. Drilling and boring a part. 4 3/4" OD, 2" drill, then bored and threaded around 3 3/4" ID. Big pen ;)

I've never had to use my travelling or fixed steady, but I see on yours that they have actual roller bearings...cool...I think mine are just rubbing cintered bronze or some other alloy.:biggrin:

That kind of Pen needs a Capital Letter!

Met a guy a few years ago, I'm 6'1" and 220, when he shook my hand it looked like a two-year-old shaking hands with his father. HE could probably use a Pen that big.:)

Yeah, I have used the bronze ones as well, even on this size lathe. The bearings are the best, though!
