I just turned one of El Mostro's bloodwood cross, ivory aluminite pens and am now ready to finish. If it was solid aluminite I would simply wet sand with MM and polish. since the bloodwood is there was wondering if anyone had any tips. I don't want to put a CA finish over the aluminite if I can avoid it. If I wet sand and just leave the bloodwood exposed would that be okay or would the moisture from the sanding mess it up. Should I rub in a little ca to seal the cross and then wetsand with MM.

any tips would be greatly appreciated.

My expeience with bloodwood is it bleeds pretty bad. I was to to use CA to stop the bleeding. I wonder if you put CA on the bloodwood using a Q-tip with the lathe stopped. It would atleast let you put it where you want it. Maybe someone who knows more than me will say if that would work.
