How do you split apart the center-band on a Jr.Gent?

Hi,

Im looking to shorten the center-band on the Jr.Gent or similarly on the baron etc. Ive seen members like igran7 do it, and achieve a center-band around a third of the size without the black or gold inlay left in the band?

But whenever Ive tried I just ant get any of the center band to shift? Is it fairly simple to do, or am I just being to cautious with my kit and it needs a bit more brute force?

Any tips would be great!

Wow, thanks just what I was looking for! Wasn't sure how to go about it, didn't want to use a knife and bugger up the kit!

Id been searching for post with centreband, instead of centerband! haha!
