I sent a bunch of pens to be engraved locally. The guys laser is in his garage and we had a real cold snap (for California). 1/2 a day of lasering and both the pens made of Thuya have cracks in them at the edges.

How do you disassemble a Sedona? Both ends have the same size hole so a punch that fits into the pen will pass through the opposite end too.

Any suggestions?

Greg,I have disassembled a couple Barons,
same scenario.I had sucess in using a lot
smaller punch, good sharp edge on end you will
knock out with.held the blank and drop the punch in,
get the business end of punch onto
the inside edge of fitting to knock out.used my thumb
to keep side pressure on punch sticking out, push toward
side opposite where lower end is resting.think tilted in
at an angle through barrel.just tap some, and switch sides
to keep fitting coming out evenly.
probably better ways, but it worked for me!

Greg, another way to disassemble the Sedona is to leave the posting finial on the pen and use a transfer punch to knock that end out. After it's out you can use a larger transfer punch(as close to the diameter of the tube as possible) and knock the coupler out of the other end. The cap is the same way. Once you get the finial out use a large transfer punch and knock out the coupler and CB.
