Trip to wife's heritage town outside of Nuremberg, town called Fuerth where we collected wood in a park, when turned they were partially carbonized/burned. The pieces were about thumb sized so many pen parts had both sapwood and heartwood, which made for beautiful and interesting natural variations. Unfortunately my home laser burned the top half of the second row one pixel off, instead of trying to re-turn (the burned parts were very delicate) and hide the imperfections we will always know it was done with love and wood I cannot simply rebuy. Finished with HUT liquid, Shellawax, and spray Laquor to prevent more loss of wood and seal it in.
