Help with wood ID...

Made two pens a while ago, now I don't remember what the wood is. Can anyone shed some light on the type of wood I used?

#1: Something in the hickory family? Pecan maybe?
#2: Looks like cherry with sapwood?

Can`t see any sign of open pores in the first one , which I would expect with hickory/pecan . Second does look cherry ish .

Did you buy any wood from Australia...???

The first one looks very identical to my old Olive wood root...!

Both? Same wood? The first pen pic is pretty accurate color-wise. The second one, not so much...

Both cherry. The first may be from a stump, or near the burl/log intersection. 2nd is cherry eye burl.
