I bought a job lot of materials off someone retiring last year, and am just getting round to some of the wood. Here are three bits that I'm having trouble with as I've never used them before. I've had a quick look in the library, but nothing jumps out as being the same. There were no particular odours off any of them.

Quite hard and dense.

Very heavy and hard...some form of ironwood?

This is beautiful....reminds me of a cactus blank. Harder than it looks.

first: probably cocobolo
second: ironwood, perhaps, or maybe leadwood. hard to tell from the pic
third: lacewood or lace sheoak

That's my guess.

That's my guess.

I would have guessed:
1. Bolivian Rosewood
2. Leadwood seems right on
3. Lace Sheoak (just got a few myself and they look just like it). Lacewood seemed to have a tighter fit of ribbons than the Sheoak
