Help identifying Blanks

I think (?) these blanks are all the same wood....not sure. I just don't know what they are. Too light to be Cocobolo. They are more the color of walnut but too figured to be walnut.

Anyone want to take a stab?

I would disagree with that statement . Your nose should be able to tell the difference between walnut and ziricote if you have known samples to compare them to .

My guess visually is walnut. If you'd like to send them to me, I'll gladly cut and turn some to find out if they smell like walnut :biggrin: I just cut 61 walnut blanks last night, so my nose is very well calibrated to it by now!

Count me among those on the Ziricote bandwagon. The sapwood looks too perfectly separated from the heartwood to be walnut, as well the grain appears to be far less porous.
