Please help me identify this wood. I think blanks 1, 2 and 3 are all the same wood because they are very similar and arrived together in a batch of wood I received. Two pieces of cocobolo are shown to the right for reference. The density is very high, about 1.1 to 1.3 gm/cubic cm., which puts them up there with ironwood, Grenadilla and ebony. There is no discernible grain or pores much like ebony, and unlike the cocobolo.
I'm thinking a type of ironwood burl, but I have not seen that much ironwood so I don't know.
