My father in western NY purchased a JET 1221 last year and it came with a box of drill and Forstner bits, pen blanks, a complete WoodRiver 4 jaw chuck, Allen wrenches and more. My dad told me that it came with what he thought was a metal lathe chuck. I told him I could try to sell it on craigslist for him. He mailed it to me last week and I realize it is not a metal lathe chuck but a one way of some sort.

I have the one-way talon bought used and like it.

But this one needs two Tommy bars to tighten it (these are missing). It does have 4 jaws that look very similar to the talon. It is missing any sort of threaded part to thread onto my lathe. (See pictures)

Is this the classic OneWay chuck or the strong hold?

Is it a lost cause or worth buying the missing parts. All I have is what is in the picture. What all is it missing?

It looks like all you're missing is the Tommy bars and an insert. That looks comparable to the Nova Midi Chuck other than the Nova doesn't require an insert.

Get ahold of Oneway and ask them about parts and or servicing for it. I'm sure they can help you. Their site is down for maintenance so you might need to wait until the morning.

I am going to order the threaded adapter in the current CSUSA group Buy.

Now what to do about finding tommy bars...

Looks like the jaws ate interchangeable with my Talon!

It's just an older OneWay Chuck and I'm reasonably sure that they will have several thousand "tommie bars" laying around that they will sell you. OneWay only makes quality products, so you are fortunate!
