I'am new to pen turning and I am having trouble with blow out on the lathe when I turn the blanks.
What am I doing wrong??
Please help.

Blow outs are usually caused by dull tools, too agressive, slow turning speeds, too fast of turning speed, bad glue joints or a combination of all of these.

I'll vote for dull tools. Second place goes to correct speed.
