Never turned one. How has the response to the havana been as far as sells. Mine pens are going into a second store and I want to do a theme pen for this store.

Depends on which "Havana" pen you mean. I've made several El Toros(Little Havana FP) and El Presidentes(Havana RB) and two Havana ballpoints. I have one rollerball and one ballpoint, which I just finished last week left. I sold a set of them, FP, RB and BP to an attorney.

It's a decent kit, I've turned the "Robusto" which is Woodcraft's answer to the Havana rollerball.

It doesn't have the refinement of the Gentlemen's pen, and for the cost it doesn't quite stack up.

BUT if your customers want a larger pen that posts, it's probably the better of the few that do (along with the El Grande).

Anyhow, it has plastic thread that require several more turns to remove the cap than an Gent, which virutally pops off with just a turn. I have a rollerball that is my personal pen, and it is good for writing if you like big pens.

That being said, and considering the minimal difference in the cost, I'd prefer to offer/display Gent's over the Havanas. Just more refined and less plastic/black epoxy.

Thanks everyone. This week I store selling my product in another store. This one is at A/C in one on the casinos. Their theme is old Havana.

Thanks again

Well, if that's the case, give the Havana a shot. Personally I'd be more prone to make the ballpoint since it's basically a HUGE cigar pen (parker refill), and honestly I think it looks more clean and well balanced than the cigar OR the Havana rb or fp.. There's only a tad of the not-so-durable black epoxy, on the cap---- the cb and the nib are very clean, solid plated metal.

Now you need to go get yourself some to'backer and cast it in some resin to make some real nice havanas. Just beware 'sidestream dust'.
