Has anyone used the synthetic cork?

I ask because I recently won a auction for some cork and was asked if I wanted the Synthetic cork as well...I said yes. I am unsure if it will turn nice or be bland....any ideas?

There are a couple of different types
burnt cork is regular cork that is chemically treated
Burl cork-is a slurry of regular cork and synthetic
Real synthetic is a rubber compound very hard looks similar to burl cork and in my opinion isn't as good as real cork and it is heavier in weight then all of the above
