Most people use the large set of transfer punches from Harbor Freight. There are sizes for just about all of the pens you may need to disassemble. I have the PSI kit that I use for removing the 7mm transmissions but the HF kit has everything else. Many vendors sell the transfer punches but the HF ones are the cheapest and work very well.

A punch set is an absolute must-have. I disassemble probably 0.35 pen kits per year, but use my punch set all the time for various things that pop up.

I use the HF set too and there always seems to be one in there that is just the right size. I think I paid $7 for it. As a side bonus for me it doubles as a great mandrel set for making chainmaille rings. Now if I could just figure out how to make a chainmaille pen......
