Hi have some brass shim paper sheets that i have tried to use as inlay for creating some blanks.
i have tried using CA to glue it in. the problem is that the blank blows apart when i try to turn it.
sometimes, i can even take it apart by hand.
is there a secret to being able to glue this stuff to wood?
i put glue on the 2 pieces of wood and put the sheet between them. then i clamped it all together. i left it for a few days.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you are glueing end grain it is pretty much to be expected.
If it doesn't have to be clear I would try JB WELD.
Cleaning the brass& degassing might show some improvement.
Acid etching may help but if you are determined to use CA make sure the acid is rinsed of reall well(completely).
Ca will not stick to an acid base(DAMHIKT)
If you are gluing long grain you may have a problem when turning it.
