Hello everyone, came accross this site whilst surfing the net. It is about glass pens made by lampworkers, I presume they are made at the end of the day to use up molton glass thats left over.
Web site is www.glass-pen.com/history.htm

There are some beautiful colours, worth a look!

I was considering using a test tube for part of a pen. It would probably be hard to work properly into a design though.

That is a neat concept there Mark. They look like they actually work pretty well according to the text.

I've got a glass pen like that...handmade for me a few years back. They have tiny grooves in the nib section that use capillary action to draw and release the ink. It writes wonderfully!

If I could ever get something as beautiful as that, I'd be a millionair. I think that is why I put the equipment away in the first place.

I only WISH I had made it, Mark. I went on a tour of Italy years back and found a shop where a young guy was apprenticing. I watched him for an hour and purchased the very pen he had just completed. It writes like a dream.
