I have been asked to make a Gentleman's Fountain Pen and have sourced the pen from Turners Retreat in the UK (http://www.turners-retreat.co.uk/acatalog/Pen_Collection.html).

The person for whom I am making the pen has requested a conversion from cartridge to bulb/ink filler.

Having investigated this, I have found at least one supplier of conversion kits (http://www.thewritingdesk.co.uk/spares.php) but have no idea as to which convertor is the appropriate fit for a Gentlmen's Pen.

Has anyone ever converted one of these pens and could advise?

Thanks

Mike.

If it's from older stock, then the Gentlemen's Pens do not have the converter with them. The converter for the International cartridges (Pelikan, Waterman, etc) is the one that you want.

You need a converter compatible with the international size cartridge. All kit fountain pens that I've seen use the international size cartridge. It doesn't matter what the brand name as long as the type of pump/converter is the international size. The end that inserts into the nib assemble will look like the same end of cartridge.
Do a good turn daily!
