Had one of these setting around for years, thinking about turning a pen out of it. Anybody tried it?

it's about 30 inches long, about 2 in at the base, and seems to be hollow for about 10 or 12 inches from the bottom.

Actually, to my amazement, it didn't smell bad at all. Now this one is years old, which may effect it, but the axis antler I was working with smelled worse.

I'm amazed that it didn't stink. It's made from hair like water buffalo and pronghorn. I had some pronghorn and tried it and the smell was really intense. It went in the garbage can.
