Hello Chaps

I am uploading my collection of books onto my website for everyone to download free of charge. I have around 600 of them, so please bare with me as i have them all uploaded and categorised. Im currently wading my way through metalwork.

These books are all published over 80 years ago, which means they can be shared with everyone in the public domain without breaking any copyright law etc, as they have all been scanned and archived into PDF documents etc to preserve their great indepth information.

Webmasters, here is a notice on public domain material:
These books has survived long enough for the copyright to expire and the book to enter the public domain. A public domain book is one that was never subject
to copyright or whose legal copyright term has expired. Whether a book is in the public domain may vary country to country. Public domain books
are our gateways to the past, representing a wealth of history, culture and knowledge that's often difficult to discover.
Marks, notations and other marginalia present in the original volume will appear in this file - a reminder of this book's long journey from the
publisher to a library and finally to you.

I ask that no one attempts to bundle them together and sell them. Please respect the fact i am giving them to you for free, and would much prefer it if you gave them to everyone else for free too.

Heres the first half a dozen available to download now. I will post more in this thread as i add them to different categories.

Thanks Brad - There may be a problem with the PDF for Tools, Chucks and Fixtures. It gives an error when I try to open the downloaded file. I downloaded twice and get the error on both downloads. The error (from Adobe Reader X) is:

"There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

The others open fine. Thanks again!

Hello Ed and Brad,
Thanks Brad - There may be a problem with the PDF for Tools, Chucks and Fixtures. It gives an error when I try to open the downloaded file. I downloaded twice and get the error on both downloads. The error (from Adobe Reader X) is:
Have downloaded Tools Chucks and fixtures (all 326 pages of it) and it opens and reads OK for me! although I opened it with Foxit Reader
Many thanks, as well, from me Brad

I enjoy looking through some of the older stuff from time to time... I get a wild hair from time to time, go to sites like The Gutenberg Project, and peruse their selection for something new. My wife got me a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas, so it looks like I'll have some new material to thumb through. :)

Brad

Thank you very much. This remains me of Shop Class in JR High.
Old material still very useful today. The machine just changes not the methods.

Again thank you very much.

80 year old books are no problem.

That's OK, so is my 9" South Bend Lathe! I inherited it from my grandfather, and I am almost 70. I think it dates from 1940.

That is a great thing for you to do. The sharing of knowledge is always wonderful. And you doing this may serve to preserve some written texts which may have been lost away over time.

Thanks Brad, for the books, I am sure they will be useful to me never having used a screwcutting lathe before, especially the threading books.
