Fountain Pen Not Inking

I have a customer whose Fountain pen is not drawing ink. Can anyone tell me possible causes and possible fix's. Thanks.

Needs to be taken apart and cleaned.
That would be the first thing I would do.

Did the pen ever work properly? If it did, then Gary is correct that it needs to be cleaned. If it never worked, that's a different matter.

It did work properly but I believe she set it aside for awhile. How do you clean a fountain pen?

If you have a converter, you can put the nib in warm water and pull water through the nib with the converter. Washing the water back and forth several times helps. Also, leave the nib to soak in the water for a couple of hours and then flush it well.

Also, fountain pens need to be cleaned periodically, even if they are in regular use -- more so if they are used irregularly. Most pens and inks can be cleaned just with plain water straight from the tap.
