Fixing a sloppy fit.

I just made a Designer Elite.
The finile that is on the body portion (that holds the spring) is a very loose fit. And when I assemble the pen, the sprng pushes it of the pen. How can I repair/fix this?
It is a beautiful peice of Black Ash Burl and I really like the looks of this pen.

Try putting a drop of CA (super glue) on the finial as you asssemble it.

Or a drop of loctite.

Loctite is less likely to fog the metal.

What ever you use, put it on the inside of the tube, NOT on the press in piece. If you put glue on the finial, the tube will just scrape it off and it will ooze out onto the finish and metal making quite a mess!

Push the pieces together and twist.

I was thinking of tinning the inside of the tube with solder. I was not sure if the glueing would work! Glueing is easier!

Any particular loctite better than another? (been years since I used loctite! Last was used when I was building engines!)
