I've never done a capped pen, I want to try one and was wondering what would be the best choice for a first time kit?

Thanks

Just turned my first also. A Triton from Woodcraft. Really liked the look and feel of the kit. Went together easily, instructions from their website are clear.

Rick...

The Triton, Gentleman, JR Gent II, Sedona, or Baron all have quality components and are good options. They are all relatively easy to turn and put together. And, they are reasonably priced and are available from a number of suppliers.

Rick- I use PSI for my kits. I like the Classic and Classic Elite. The Olympian ll has a cap etc. but several of the parts such as end cap are plastic and makes it look cheap. Majestics are very nice but pricey.

Rick, you have a lot of good suggestions above. The Triton is one of my new favorites. The Barons and Jr Series are good. All have good quality components and assembly is easy, just follow the directions carefully the first time, and take your time.
