Completed 1st pen and I think I did a pretty good job. The only issue I have is everyone is asking what type of wood I used and I do not have a clue. I purchased a package of 12 blanks on sale from Rockler and nothing was labeled nor did it list any types of wood included. Here are a few poorly taken photos of the pen. If anyone thinks they may know what type of wood it is please let me know.

Maybe white oak?

Anyways, keep the pen. It was advised to me and I'm so glad I did. I enjoy looking at my first pen often :D

It's definitely your first heirloom pen! haha

MY wife got pen # 1, 3, & 5. My mother # 2, 4 & 6, I have hidden # 7 thru 10, the rest are going to the troops.

Very good work and attention to details.
