I'm attempting my first PR casting today- a rattlesnake slimline.
I don't have a pressure or vacuum setup, so I have my fingers crossed.
I'll post some pics when it's finished.

Keep us posted. I am getting my tank and vac pump next week. I could use a first timers perspective. I may not have the b_ _ls to try a complicated cast like that on my first adventure though. Good luck and be sure to let us know how it goes.

I cast some clear poly resin today for the first time. I haven't been able to find a suitable mold. I live in the hot hot south and I can't belive I can't find icecube/popcicle molds, but I can't. I guess I'm going to have to make my own, maybe out of wood and line it with plastic or something, I dunno know. Anyway, I cut the block into three sections, dilled a hole and turned it. It's as clear as any snake skins I've purchased. Maybe I got lucky, but I thought it would be much more difficult.

Well, so far so good. it's taking a long time to set up because i used very little catalyst.
There are almost no air bubbles in the casting so far.
I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow so I'll probably turn it saturday when I get back.
