Here is my first Fountain Pen.
I liked making this also...and there will be more.
This one is African Blackwood with Sapwood.
Enjoy

Harry,

That is very nice. I got a couple Blackwood with SAP blanks recently. At first I was kinda dissapointed as I usually use the blackwood for accents and need it to be black. But your pen showed me otherwise. That is very nice. Thanks for the post.

Having never turned a FP, what is different about them that makes you like them better? Is it one of those head things?[:D] I like your selection of contrasting wood. Looks like the wood polishes up well too.

I haven't tried any of the other brands, so I can't speak of them. This is a Classic Elite of Penn States.
What I liked about it most, was the assembly of the pen.
It goes together very nicely. And easy to turn the wood for it.

African blackwood is my favorite turning wood. I have made a few pens with the sapwood in them, very striking indeed. Excellent job!
