I have been making pens for 2 weeks now so I thought it time I try a Cholla bones pen. I filled the holes with inlace turquoise and then put the entire thing in resin. I had been cutting for a while and was getting close to the end and caught a crack or something and blew out a bunch of the wood and inlay. Oh well i'm going to try again tomorrow.

Looks like a concept that warrents another try. Most folks that have only been turning pens for 2 weeks would never try a blank that difficult to handle. Congratulations and keep trying.

When you get down close give the pen a good coat of thin CA glue. Let it rest for a few minuets then turn it on down.

I'm glad you suggested that, I was thinking last night I should have put more resin on it or something. The CA glue will work better and easier.
Thanks
