Do you know I have often wondered if a finish is really needed on stablilized wood? It is stabilized with acrylics, so when it is polished out it leaves a lovely finish. I use a CA/BLO after, but wonder if we could not treat it as an acrylic with no finish?

Cheers

Mike

PS: Maybe Dymondwood could be done with no finish too?

Mike, I prefer to put a finish on stabilized woods and also Dymondwood. True, they are stabilized with acrylics, but no stabilizing process replaces the wood. Therefore, you will have wood exposed on the surface of the finished pen that will likely wear differently than the acrylic. For that reason, I put a finish on the pen.
