Finishing question

Hi there. I was wondering if anyone can answer this question for me. I use a ca finish on my pens. But on my bowls I using a rub on poly. I use 0000 steel wool in-between each coat. Here's the question. Do I use the steel wool after the final coat or do I leave it? And if I do use it will it dull the finish. Thanks

This should be in the finishing forum but to answer your question, yes it will knock the shine back some. There are those that like that look. Not sure what you are after.If looking for a high gloss then leave it. Poly is a layer finish as well as CA. I like the use of lacquers.
