The city of Garden Grove, CA has recently cut down a LOT of Eucalyptus trees near the freeway on and off ramps. I think it has to do with encouraging the relocation of the outdoor domiciled.

There is probably 40-50 TONS of this stuff. Leaves, branches, trunks, and even roots. Any part of the tree that are good for turning? I know some trees have good root burls but I know nothing about Eucalyptus except for Koalas and the oil.

Our local schools trim their Eucalyptus trees every August so I get my firewood (all 3 cubic feet) from there every year.

I don't know about how good eucalyptus is for turning but be careful if cutting up a root ball. Try to get all of the dirt sprayed off with the hose or pressure washer. The dirt is terrible for your blade of your band saw, not to mention the hidden rocks! I ruined an expensive 105in band saw blade the last time I did a root ball. It cut right through a rock, but that was the death of the blade!
