Emperor or Imperial Pen Cap Fit

I have an older Cross pen and my pen cap when closed does not fit tightly. In fact, if I pull my pen from my dress shirt pocket, sometimes the cap comes out without the barrel of the pen.

Does anyone know if the caps of an emperor or imperial type pen will do this after a few years of regular use?

I'm leaning toward getting a pen with a cap that screws on because of this, but really like these two kits even though the cap is not postable.

Ron, that is hard to answer since the kits you mention haven't been on the market long.

I'm assuming your old cross pen has a snap cap and does not screw on. Both the Emperor and the Imperial, while they do not post, have screw on caps.
