No not W the pen one, I made an El Presidente roller ball, assembled it and was dumbfounded when the nib was not showing, I had to make a spacer to fit down inside the finial to get the extra 1/4 inch, Yes I did put the spring in,
Has any one else had any thing like this happen? I'm going to make one out of bloodwood tomorrow and see if there is any difference The tube length is the only thing that could be wrong, right??

The rollerball spring that Berea supplies is a joke. I invariably have to stretch it quite a bit for the tip of the refill to extend far enough and stay there when a person writes.

Thanks Gerry, I was beginning to think I was the only person to ever make one, the second one was the same way, I had to make a plug from a piece of dowel to get the nib all the way out, It's a nice kit, for a big pen, but pretty stupid mistake for the manufacturer, maybe this is a pen kit that seriously needs a product review done since it is virtually useless the way it comes from Berea
