I know about North Dakota because - I like Blue - ordered lots - still have most of them.

BLACK and more black is safe if your area is like mine. HWH

We probably send out Black / Blue in a 3 to 1 ratio. Many businesses still require black ink on all forms/documents (though I am not sure why since it makes it almost impossible to tell copy/originals when they are NOT done in blue.)

66 percent here want black ink, 34 percent want blue. I suspect that our blue ratio is higher than most places, because Real Estate Lawyers and Bankers want blue. Georgia apparently has some obscure "original signature" laws.

At shows in other states, it is closer to 3/4 black and 1/4 blue.

I rarely get a request for blue refills and nearly always when I do it is from Europe, where I understand Blue ink is the more popular. It seems the trend to black is fairly new in this country because I remember when you had a hard time finding a ballpoint (bic/papermate/etc.) in anything but blue ink.

When I was young virtually all of the ink for fountain pens that was easily available was blue.
