So a friend bought a pen many years ago from a guy in Hawaii. Got all the punches from HF and began attempting to take the pen apart tonight... after about half an hour with absolutely no results I looked inside the tube of the pen to see glue residue. So what are my options? I have no idea what the glue is. The tubes were turned very thin, so I don't want to damage the pen by cranking it in a vise. I tried hot water and ice to try and loosin the nib, but no luck.

Suggestions?

My first suggestion is to make a new pen........Part of the problem may be the pen slipping from your hand as you beat on it. If so, try wrapping the pen with rubber bands and use this as a had grip the rubber bands may give you a better hand hold. Then try beating out the nib again. Good luck.....
