I have been getting a clicking sound from my motor recently. Plus it knocks lightly when I start it up. Has anybody had this happen to them? Its almost like something is loose on a shaft. When I grasp the handwheel and turn it back and forth there about .25 in of play. But the bottom pulley seems tight.

See if the set screw has loosened up on the p drive pulley.

Ken, I bought mine used, but noticed the same thing. After a little investigation, I tightened all the set screws I could find and it smoothed out and quite making noise.

A similar thing happened on my TCLPRO, I occasionally use the handwheel to slow/stop the lathe and this loosened the set screw. Once re-tightend the knocking went away.

Sounds like a good spot for some Loctite??
