My brother and I both bagged a couple of whitetail deer in Vermont this past week. I am going to cut the legs off both deer and attempt to make pens with the bone. I have read and seen some beautiful pens with deer bone on this site. My plan is to let some of the bone dry in a dehydrator that I use for wet wood sometimes. I also plan on bleaching some but not all of the bone. I guess I'm looking for thoughts and suggestions from anyone that has tried this. If it works out well I might cut off my thumb and make a sierra for my PITH offering!!![:0] I also picked up a nice Moose Antler shed at a yard sale in VT for $2.00 :D

Do you add any thing to the water like bleach or anything to help whiten it?
About this time of year I would normaly have cut up several deer but since Ive had a Titanium Plate, 8 screws in my back and 3 more in my shoulder I havenet hunted in several years, so my friends are going to think im nuts when I ask for front leggs instead of steaks!, lol
Thanks
