Dedicated pen blank drilling chuck?

I have it and love it.

If you have a collet chuck or 4-jaw chuck, it is a luxury item, but I still like having one.

I bought one after reading other's positive reviews. I am now part of the club! Makes accurate lathe drilling easy and quick. I used to rough turn blanks to round, to fit the collet chuck. No more. Much quicker.

Haven't used the drill press to drill blanks since I bought one!

I have one. It's the ONLY method I have to drill. Works well. One word of advise though, keep the jaws clean. Any chips from drilling or whatever WILL cause problems. And, if the sides of the blank are not parallel ... check for 'wobble' before drilling.

My drill press is not used to drill blanks anymore.

Good tool, cut at low rpm and clean often
