I just finished two pens, one cherry wood and one orange jessamine, both light colors and applied decals. On both pens the clear backing of the decal was almost competely transparent. I am now working on a padauk pen, slightly darker wood. When I applied the decal the backing was very visable.
My question is do you apply the decal directly to the wood or do you apply a few coats of ca first? I put ca on the first pens and had success. Not so on the current pen.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
