Decal Issues

I am making a few decal pens for a local car club. I am experiencing an issue with parts of the edge and some middle areas of the decal turning a milky white after I have applied several coats of CA. (between the decal and the wood).. I have done several other decal pens and NOT had this issue. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

I have had this problem when the decal does not stick down securely. You will probably find that when you turn it off it comes off in large pieces rather than slivers. Make sure you get all the air and water squeezed out when you apply the decal.

Bob,

You have water trapped under the decal. Make sure the decal is dry before sealing it, then dry again before applying CA.

I concur with the above answers. Make sure your decals are totally free of air and or water before applying the CA.

I wait 24 hours (or at least overnight) after applying the decals before applying the CA topcoats.

If you struggle to get the water or air out, a tiny pin prick will help and will hardly be seen. You can see it with a magnifying glass and difficult with the naked eye.
