I recently picked up some of this Curly Mango and tried it out last night on a Commissioner RB. I did a CA finish on it and I really like the way it came out. Its a little hard capturing the chatoyance in the wood, but its very active and pretty.
I have a few more blanks of this and I look forward to using it on other styles.
Not sure if this is just an issue with the Commissioner kits, but the threaded insert in the cap fit very loose and had to be glued in place. Unfortunately I didn't remember what I had read about using Loctite and the CA I used leaked out on the center band. It didn't affect the body, but ruined the, now glued in place, band. Lesson learned and new personal pen for me.
Since this is the first time I've built this kit (I think its the same as the Full Gent), I wonder if it is typical or not. I like the kit a lot other than that.
