Since Corian can be purchased at Rockler and Woodcraft and many online stores as pen blanks. Has any one contacted a Cabinet / Counter top installer to see if they have installed Corian counter tops and may have scraps. I was thinking about this today and think if this is possible, that would save some money buying the plastic. I recently found out, being a new turner as of this weekend, that Corian is used for Counters tops.

So has anyone else thought of doing this? Or am I just wishing?

I have gotten a bunch of corian from a guy near me. I have been cutting it down to 1/2x1/2x6 and 1x1/2x6 inch blanks. going to be selling some of it to pay for the blade I had to buy to cut it.

tipsusnr...Meaning you get all kinds of scrap plastic and glue it up to make full blanks? Or meaning there are resources listed for all turners to look at? Either way interested in looking at those articles.

Thanks,
Rayk.

I mean there are several discussions regarding that subject in the archives of this forum. Also many of the members here get their corian that way.

Sorry I was unclear!!
