Hey Guys,

Do you guys think that coolibah burl is worthy of an emperor, imperial, or statesman kit? Or should I save my kits for something better? Thanks for input?:)

Depends on the piece you'll be working with. I have some coolibah burl that is worthy of any style pen.

I think Coolibah can be beautiful, although beware that it often hides small pits/cracks that you'll need to fill as you finish.

Coolibah

Like asking are red apples good. However Coolibah is in Burl form a beautiful timber no more difficult nor less beautiful than most Burls. A pic would help. Wet it with Methylated spirits or you call it some sort of alcohol, make your own judgement. IMHO good Coolibah Burl is fit for anything great. One of our special timbers here in Australia. A mate of mine from Canberra sells Coolibah by the ton all round the world. Ask the American importers.

Show me a pic best idea.

Regards Peter.
