ComboBlanks Finishing Knowledge

What do you recommend using to finish Combo Blanks. I am speaking of blanks that are cast from a combination of PR / Plast / Aluma. and natural wood. From what I see most do not use CA on plastics and just finish with MM and polish as opposed to finishes on wood. Thanks, Dave

What I've done is apply thin CA to just the wood a couple times until it won't absorb any more, then polish it like the plastic. It's like turning the outer layer of the wood to plastic.

On segmented pens that I do, I use a CA finish over it all. This pen:

is wood, veneer, and PR. Even if I had aluminum in there, I still would have finished with CA.
