Are the Woodcraft Cobalt Gold kits considered an equal plating to Titanium Gold plating? I cannot remember where the list was that showed the plating ratings. Thanks for your help.

Harder than 24Kt

Cobalt gold is a bit harder than 24Kt. Gold, but not like Gold TN. Gold TN is sometimes sputtered with 24kt Gold to give it a 24Kt gold look. The 24Kt will wear off but it won't be very noticeable because of the Gold colored TN beneath.

It is OK but

I don't know if this is good or not, but it lines up pretty closely with other sources I've seen:

http://reviews.ebay.com/Pen-Kit-Plating-Options-Guide_W0QQugidZ10000000001251605

Its ok as a general guide and it seems to me that the order listed is pretty close but I think there are some errors.

Chrome and Black Chrome probably wear as well as Rhodium and a lot of Black Titanium is Titanium Nitride with about the same characteristics as Titanium Gold.
