I want to make a sketch pencil, only instead of the spring loaded push cap that they all have, I want a mechanism like PSI's chalk holder:

Planning to use the 5.6 mm leads, which are too small for the chalk holder to grab. Might consider 3/8 leads and the chalk holder, but haven't found any that fat.
I don't even need a whole kit, just the collet assembly. I've tried looking at just collets, but haven't yet found anything that seems suitable for this specific application.
The primary goal is for a closed end pencil, so if there's a better approach I should consider, I'm happy to hear it.
