This is my first post ever, I just joined this association this week. I have been turning for about 1 year, but pens for about 9 mo. or so. I would like some info on how to make closed end pens. The tools required and any related info would be nice. I have enjoyed reading the posts on this site. Thanks for the help.

Don's articles are great. I've also used the Harbor Freight transfer punch set as mandrels by chucking them.

You can usually find one of the punches that is a friction fit into the tube. Start off with a live center supporting the opposite end. Finish up with the center retracted.
