I would like to try closed end pens like barons with two closed ends. How do you not have the center band and still have the threads? I like the ones with no center band.

Remove the small rings. Then you have two choices. One is to reduce the diameter of the center coupling so that last "ring" is gone and press the part into place. I hold the coupling with my collet chuck and part off the ring. Or, it can be ground off on a grinding wheel. The other choice is to make the diameter of the cap large enough so the last "ring" can be recessed and hidden. I can find pictures showing these two choices if that would help.
Do a good turn daily!
